If you always feel busy but you're not getting results, try cutting out these things
Not everything on your to-do list is helping your business grow.
In fact, some tasks are just busywork — they keep you “working” but don’t move the needle.
Here are 3 things you can cut pretty easily that will free up your time and focus for the things that help your business grow:
1. Obsessively Checking Your Inbox - Constantly refreshing your email might feel productive, but it’s a distraction that eats into your focus time.
What to do instead: Set specific times to check and respond to emails (like once in the morning and once in the afternoon). Turn off notifications so you’re not tempted to keep checking.
2. Perfecting Social Media Posts - Spending hours tweaking captions, editing graphics, or overthinking hashtags isn’t going to make a massive difference. Consistency beats perfection every time.
What to do instead: Create simple, valuable content and post it. Done is better than perfect. Engagement > aesthetics.
3. Recreating the Wheel for Every Client - Customising every process, proposal, or email might feel like you’re delivering top-notch service, but it’s a massive time drain.
What to do instead: Use templates for recurring business client tasks to save time and effort. I’ve got a bunch of templates that help you run your business smoothly, pitch to potential clients, onboard new clients and more - come find me on Instagram and I'll send you the link to them.
